“National Quilting Day”

Thank you to Wendy from Ivory Spring for reminding me it was “National Quilting Day”. As many of you know, four years ago I was forced into an early retirement from registered nursing, after thirty-four years.
I had seven years to go to retirement and with my childlren not needing me financially anymore, I was ready to work hard and pay my mortgage off. With early retirement came less personal income.
After a couple of years, it was time for me to choose what I could do to really bring me happiness. I enjoyed scrapbookingmsit, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and. I knew I couldn’t do them all, so chose to narrow my list to quilting and scrapbooking – http://www.mycmsite.com/joschindler
Where nursing blessed my life by being able to give paid service to my clients; quilting enabled me to give unpaid service to those I love. AND my quilting community has given me the courage to keep going and keep learning. Thank you to all and “Happy National Quilting Day”.
